Summer Sports Camp for Young Athletes

We are now taking bookings for Summer camp which is being held at Rosset. This provides a full range of sporting activities for children from 6-14 years old throughout the summer, Details are available below

About

We are committed to providing a safe, secure and respectful environment for those involved in the camp irrespective of their ability. We expect everyone from coaches, parents, helpers, and athletes to show respect and behave in a sensible, considerate and inclusive manner at all times.

What: The young athletes holiday camp is suitable for all abilities and aims to help your child learn new skills, have fun, and make new friends. We will provide a balanced programme of athletics activities, techniques, skills and games delivered by qualified UK Athletics coaches, all of whom have experience of working with children of all abilities. The ratio of coaches will be in line with the current Government guidelines. Suitable for children aged 6-13 years.

Activities

Sprinting, hurdles, endurance, long jump, triple jump, high jump, throwing and conditioning. Lots of games and competitions to put new skills into practise and flourish.

Dates 25th July Monday to Thursday for 5 weeks till the 28th of August

Registration will be at 9.00 am and pickup at 3.30pm. We ask that you are prompt with these times to ensure a smooth start and end to the day.

Where: Rossett School, Green Lane, Harrogate. This is the main school entrance and NOT the sports centre entrance on Pannal ash Road. We will have access to the entire sports fields and the top gym, with access to our own toilets/washing facilities. We will collect your athletes from the Reception Pagoda and take them into the Facility

To support us, we ask parents and children to:

  • Ensure punctuality in drop off and pick up times.
  • Provide your child with an understanding of hygiene and social distancing rules.
  • Keep us informed of any changes of your Childs health and well-being.
  • Send your child to our camp in clean clothes every day.
  • Follow camp routines and adult instructions.
  • Tale responsibility for personal hygiene to limit the spread of infection and disease.

Snack & lunchtime

Lunch: Your Childs lunchbox will be kept in an inside area, although where possible lunch and snack breaks will be eaten outside. Please make sure your child has their own lunchbox/snacks and is not sharing with any siblings. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A NUT FREE CAMP (that is we respectfully ask that children do not bring any food/snacks that contain nuts). All children must have their own water bottles everyday which they will take with them throughout all activities, we can refill these as needed. Hand washing and toilet routine: we will ensure good hand washing hygiene before snacks and lunchtimes. Please can children bring their own hand sanitiser, although we will have spare.

Children will be placed in groups of similar ability and remain in these groups throughout their attendance to camp.

We will spend as much time outside as possible (weather dependent) so please ensure that your child has suitable athletic clothing, waterproofs if necessary and a change of clothes/shoes for indoor training

This can all be safely stored in the school.
